| Always get me goosebumps! Ok, what Elbow song doesn't? But when Guy sings to the ending "you were the sun in my sunday morning....." again it always gets me. Great song, great lyrics. Hard to say anything bad about Elbow! |

| It makes me want to cry. But in a good way...sort of.
I guess it makes me feel nostalgic, and makes me think about people I haven't thought about, and sad that those days and people are gone. |

| Yea, it's one of my favorites. Especially since it appeared in the Berlin Live Version of 2005 on that "B*ll*cks to Cancer"-CD |

It's a town near Manchester. The Stockport Supporters' Club is a branch of Manchester United fans based in the town. In this context they would have been on the bus home after a game singing football chants, hence forming a 'choir'. |

Thanks a lot! Now I know why I couldn't translate it! |

Pedantic I know, but surely it is the Stockport County Supporters club! The whole line works so much better with the idea of being "serenaded" by supporters of a small local team, it just anchors the song in place so much better - if that makes sense.
I doubt GG has any knowledge of the existence of any local branches of any particular football supporters - he has said that he has no interest in the sport after all.
I might be wrong, but that bus will always be full of County supporters for me |

| I'm glad that others get emotional listening to this song, and not just me! It's worse when I hear it live. I have to work really hard to keep composed.
"Yours was the face with a grace From a different age You were the sun in my Sunday morning... Telling me never to go"
It kills me. The most perfectly written song of all time. |

| It can't be denied that this is a very beautiful song. God, he even makes a lampost sound nice. (Sodium light turning silver to gold) |

That's the genius of the Guy - he makes the mundane magical. |
