Thanks glendarian
Should be a good night....will report back
Snowglobe is indeed a great EP , although I was a bit surprised when "Reves Dans Le Creux" came on and it turned out to be the french version of "Dreams In The Hollow" I knew my lack of attention in class would one day catch me out!

Jesca was great on Saturday
Brilliant songs and good story telling. I still can't understand why she hasn't reached a wider audience.

It was good to bump into Jones, Shirley and Chris too

I wish she had played "Love Is All We Have" which is the only non elbow song in my "brings a tear to the eye" chart. Particularly relevant with all the natural disasters we are seeing on our little planet.

Magic Arm was interesting enough for us to buy the CD on the way out, but it was Jesca who we were playing all Sunday

For totally different reasons to Friday, another great gig.

I happened to be looking at Twitter this afternoon and saw Jesca mention that she was playing at the Apple store tonight in Covent Garden in London before the final gig of her tour later in the evening.

She played a 30-min acoustic set including Murder Of Birds, City Bird (goosebumps!) and Hunting My Dress, plus two others which I didn't recognise and now can't find the names of. There were less than 30 people actually sat down to listen to her and most of the store was still open for normal business, there was a huge amount of background noise. I felt kinda bad for her 'cause she deserved a much bigger audience. Tons of applause from those who were actually listening though.

I got to say hello briefly and get a photo with her before she played - she's so pretty. Smile

Jesca was great! It's the first time I've seen with her band.

Kim, what a lucky girl you are, glad you got to see her in the end!

Oh her gig in The Deaf Institute was amazing!
She is such an incredible artist; wonderful musically, lyrically and vocally.
Wish she'd come over to Ireland again but that doesn't seem likely until next year... Sad
She's also really, really good at the banter and dealing with shouts/comments etc from the audience,
that's a gift in itself!
I love her voice and her lyrics, she's awesome!

Well folks, I'm sure you'll all have a good night. We saw Jesca at the Deaf Institute earlier this year and she was brill.

I've just got tickets to see Cherry Ghost perform an acoustic set at the Deaf Institute the night after, which goes some way to easing my disappointment at missing the Sunday gig. Smile

Jesca has just announced some UK dates:

02/02/2012 Slaughtered Lamb London
04/02/2012 Cornerhouse Manchester
11/02/2012 House Concerts York

Me n mrs sparky are going to the Cornerhouse gig.
£9 a ticket, could be the bargain Saturday night out of the year.

Jesca was brilliant again last night.

Hopefully her new album will get her a bit more exposure, she must be one of the most underrated songwriters around at the moment.

highlights for me were "The Kingdom" which I've not seen her do live before and a few of the new songs sound great.

And it was worth the ticket price just to see andy_landy handing out Jesca's homemade cookies to the audience. (you had to be there Very Happy )

Hope to see you at a few more gigs in Manchester andy_landy now that you're spending more time in God's country.
