| Just picked up our local rag, the Manchester Evening News - again with the Halle and courtesy of Radio 2, compere Jo Whiley, proceeds to go towards musical scholarships attending Chethams school of music, next door. Live on R2 and digital TV.
The gig is free and more details coming soon and I imagine, on Radio 2. I've seen Beach House there and due to see Anna Calvi there - a stunning venue. |

| Well spotted, MBV! Mind you, getting hold of a ticket will be very difficult, I would imagine. I don't know what the capacity of the cathedral is, but I would guess it would be in the hundreds rather than the thousands. MEN Article HERE For anyone who can't go, or if you miss out on a ticket, it does say it will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 2 and on digital television _________________ Is this making sense? | Cheers Dave - the link from the MEN wasn't on when I looked earlier.........aint holding my breath about getting a ticket, will have a go though, if the setlist has been rejigged then I'd be gutted if I'm unsuccessful.
Yeah, it's hard to gauge how many it holds, but your right, maybe around a 1,000, but not much more........ |

| As far as I can see we have to wait until 6th Oct at 8pm on Radio2 for a chance to be there! What are the chances ehh! At least we are guaranteed to see the gig live on TV. Must remember to keep back some of my Elbow beer for it! |

| I never win anything so I'm not expecting to be at this gig. Shame as it will be amazing. |

I reckon you're right mate - at the St Paul's Cathedral Crypt gig, think literally ONE, maybe TWO from these boards went, and a lot, myself included, entered the 'draw' for it.
Bloody 15 minutes on a tram from where I live aswell. |

Well... if worst case scenario is you don't get a ticket, why not hang about outside on the night to try & hear some of it? If it's only down the road, I'd be tempted to do that.
Throw those cathedral doors wide... _________________ You patched me up and sent me on my way Moderator

Actually, I remember someone saying that a number of people didn't bother turning up for the Abbey Road (SSK w BBC Orchestra) recording and that some people were squeezed in at the last minute. I tell ya - if it was just down the road for me, I would sooo be hanging around outside! You never know!!! |

| Bit of a bugger this one. I'm coming down to leeds the next day for The Mission at the O2 Academy (teenage goth.....), and have already booked my train tickets. If I knew about this one, I would have booked a day earlier. Will just have to content myself with the thought of Madrid in november. Insert grumpy smiley here..... |
