| Dear boys,
I simply can't express the buzz around you coming down to Australia for the (unfortunately too far away) Splendour In The Grass & subsequent sideshows.
I am not going to take up any more time gushing, but I really must send a small plea to you via this board - as I can't seem to find another way to contact you.
Simply put, my best friend has recently bought us tickets to your Enmore gig in Sydney. She's been going through some pretty bad health problems very recently and her absolute most favourite song is "Forget Myself". Most out of all your amazing songs, it has brought her through some really tough times.
Is there any way in the world that you might be able to play in in your set? It would just completely make our night (or our whole year!!!).
Thanks so so much guys, we really just cannot wait to see you play.
Spooky

| Hey Spooky. Welcome to the board and all that jazz.
The band are pretty responsive on Twitter. It may be worth trying to get a message to them that way. There are links to their Twitters at the bottom of the 'elbow room only' homepage... |

| I would try Craig. I think he's the one who tends to use twitter the most and is more likely to respond/see the request. Or we could unify and bugger them until they give in. |

P.S. could any of you moderator-types maybe consider making this a "sticky" (I think they call 'em that)? Is it out of line to ask that kinda thing? Just not sure. Cheers guys! |

A general requests sticky might be good...?
The band have been known to throw in a special surprise once in a while, but it's very much a rare treat. Without wanting to sound harsh, I wouldn't get your hopes up just because you asked. For instance, there were a lot of heartfelt pleas made on here back in March for older songs, but it just didn't happen. _________________ You patched me up and sent me on my way Moderator

| Yeah, I was in contact with someone extremely close to the band members and it was my friends 40th on the night of the MEN gig in March this year, who also lives in the same area as the band - I asked for a mention of her birthday or to dedicate a song to her, but it was a very polite no because of 'lots of people asking for dedications' etc.
A totally understandable reply, especially as their guest lists are massive for the homecoming gigs......you've probably a better chance though, SpookyE13 than I had....however I'd agree with MrsWoman's viewpoint.
Good Luck ! |
