Hi! I suppose this seems unlikely but is anyone around these parts going to any dates on the Australian leg of the tour? Assuming Ticketek pulls through for me (I haven't yet received any presale code despite mention of it on the official Facebook page) I'll be going to the Melbourne show on the 27th of July. Anyone?

I bought my parents tickets to Elbow last night in Perth, they finally had their first Elbow experience at 60! I got calls of excitement and Mum had said it was one of the best concerts she had been too. The boys were good, loved the city, but the flight had killed them! I'm not sure what the set was like they just kept singing 'Throw those curtains wide' down the phone at me...I think a few beve's were had. Bless em.

Good tip-off for anyone missing the Oz tour: Heard that you can watch the band play at Splendour in the Grass by going to the http://www.youtube.com/virginmobileaus live stream about 9am BST tomorrow (Sunday 31st July, 09:00 or therabouts).

What a lovely way to wake up to this morning! Pray tell though, how the hell are the lads supporting Kaiser Chiefs????

I really enjoyed that - they seemed to go down a treat with the Ozzie crowd. I'm not sure if they're well known over there (Longlegs?), but a few people seem to think that Voldemort is on drums! Laughing

Definitely not 2 hours! I only turned on at around 9.15 and as far as I can recall, from that time they played -

Mirrorball
Lippy Kids
Neat little Rows
Tower Crane
Open Arms
Grounds
ODLT

....in any particular order.

I presume they would have started with The Birds, which I'm really naffed off that I missed.

Nice to wake up to a bit of elbowy goodness on a Sunday morning, streaming live from the other side of the world - I still marvel at the technological leaps that have made this sort of thing possible, growing up as I did in an era where Stuart Hall and Eddie Waring presenting "Jeux Sans Frontieres" from Belgium seemed almost miraculous.

As for being on before the Kaiser Chiefs, I can only presume this would be because the Kaiser Chiefs are bigger in Australia, for some reason. But, as several festival headliners now know, elbow are a hard act to follow as they have the unfortunate habit of stealing the show Smile .
