Hi all - have just come across a cassette that was bought in Vibes in Bury back in 91/92 (?) by Soft. Apparently, it was only available at Vibes and possibly at Piccadilly Records. It's a plain white cover, with Soft in squidgy black capitals and inside it says:

I've got it on MP3 but obviously there are copyright issues - if anyone can get official permission to upload it on t'internet it'd be ok. It sounds rather soul/funky, certainly tell Guy's voice but the music is very very different.

Otherwise, you could make me a very good offer for it!! Very Happy

Seriously, is this fairly unknown? I heard back from a couple of friends who are big Elbow fans via Facebook last night and one had heard of its existence but didn't know of anyone who had it and others had just never heard of it. It's certainly pre 1995, when they changed 061 to 0161.

Back in the early days of the forum I'm sure someone mentioned that they had been given a copy of this by GG when he worked at The Roadhouse, so I had heard of it.

I don't think there would be any legal issues, as this wasn't a commercial release. I don't know if the band would mind if it was posted, but if they did care it would probably be for artistic reasons rather than legal ones.

I say go ahead and post it. If they request that I pull it, then I will have to.

Definitely upload it. It doesn't seem to be a commercial release so there shouldn't be any legal issues.
