This song literally stops me in my tracks every time. So deceptively simple and haunting. I love the glorious choral arrangement alongside Guy's voice.
It's a thoroughly human hymn

I think this is a really unique track in the Elbow catalogue. Guy's words take on a somehow more mature, contemplative tone - I don't think mature is quite the word I'm looking for, considering how evocative so much of the rest of their work is, but I hope you know what I mean.

This was a song that really grabbed my attention from the first listen. The Hallé Choir sound spectacular, and I LOVE Guy's lyrics. It's just a beautiful song. If I were selfish, I'd complain about the length, but in context with the song itself (as well as the rest of the album), it's just perfect. I love you

Took a while to grow on me, but it's one of my favourites now. Reminds me of Kate Bush for some reason I can't quite fathom yet scratch

Yes I know exactly what you mean. Along the lines of "And Dream Of Sheep", "All The Love".....perhaps!?

Uh, yeah. It's a bit scathing. I was totally and utterly wrong about this one being "not super memorable". This song has totally grown on me. The haunting quality of it is irresistible.

Don't worry, I've already mental-slapped myself for thinking it wasn't Laughing

I suppose it does a little, but without Gabriel's inbuilt pretentiousness! Try his 'So' or 'Us' albums for an easy-in, and you can hear the influence on Guy's voice.
