Its great to see a genre-busting, risk-taking band like Elbow finally getting the recognition they deserve. There is hope for modern music after all! Very Happy

Great chart placing - tbh, rather genuine talent like Adele is keeping the elboys off the summit, than Tinie Todger, Chipmunk or N-Dubz n all that trash.

Couldn't agree more MBV, it is a shame though when an album that deserves top spot is kept off just by when it was released. if BARB was released a few weeks prior or latter it could well get to number one. I cant see them moving up to no.1 by sunday unfortunately.

concur... i suspect the adele album will be the album of the year (from a sales point of view) come the christmas yearly roundups you see in the press...

I agree with everyone, I love those two are battling it out, rather than the other shizer! Plus her debut from three years ago is still at number 4.

Well, when you consider that TSSK only spent one week on the Billboard charts here in the US (!), and the position was #109(!!), which was their highest ever showing on that chart (!!!), then #2 ain't so very bad for a first week, is it? Laughing

Hmm, I don't disagree that Adele is a lot more credible than the rest of the **** that is usually in the charts but she's been up there for weeks now, surely its Elbow's time now?! No.2 is still very good I have to say. Hopefully they'll get no.1 next album seeing as though they've charted higher each release Smile
