I think their latest album is a return to form, personally. I like the odd bit of farty electronic music, but I sort of lost interest around the time of Kid A... but I'm enjoying this one Smile

I saw Radiohead at Cambridge Junction in about '92 or '93, they were pretty special even then.

nice, I agree, the new album is proof that they are back on form. Ony Radiohead can take a laptop on stage!

I think Kraftwerk might argue with you there. Funnily enough I used to play in a band where I had a laptop on stage, triggering samples from an electronic drumpad.

However, we aren't still going, so maybe you have a point.

Yeah Radiohead are one of my favourite bands, and Thom has gotta be in my top 5 dancers xD

I think Nude and Faust Arp are great tracks. Can't say i'm a great fan of 15 step and bodysnatchers though.

You've obviously never seen Tim Booth from James. Makes Bez look like Liam Gallagher.

yeah, I say putting a sparse song in 5/8 time at the start of arguably the most highly anticipated album of the year takes some guts... or some arrogance... or some greatness. I'd say Radiohead probably have all 3 in spades Wink

Ive just listened to 15 step again and changed my mind. I don't like the intro, but the song is actually very good.

I really love The Bands and OK Comptuer, but I couldn't make myself love the albums that followed them. Many people told me that In Rainbows is a great album, but I listened to it once or twice. I really need to want to listen to it and I still don't...I hope this will change in the next couple of weeks because I really like Radiohead...The early days, at least.

Give it a little time, and then when you're in a different frame of mind, give it another listen.

I've had to do that with certain music. No idea why, but one minute it won't sound so great, and the next, I'll love it.

Kid A is my most favorite. Just sayin'.

Seeing them in Manchester this June. Cannot wait as Radiohead are my favourite band of all time easily. Elbow are close but for sheer consistent brilliance you cannot look past Radiohead. In Rainbows was a triumph I think and my stand out tracks would be All I Need, Reckoner and House Of Cards. Anyone else seeing them this year?

I find that the albums I'm not too sure about on first listen tend to be the one's that I love most in the long run. Good music needs to be absorbed slowly.

Totally. Music appreciation is a skill that can be nurtured, I'm finding more so as time goes by.

And Topaz, Kid A is my favourite as well Very Happy Though sometimes I slip into an OK Computer mood, the two are so different yet equally brilliant to me. Smile

I think I've been too hard on In Rainbows. For one, the title is misleading - it's not a soulless piece of art like it suggests to me. In particular, the song Reckoner has started speaking to me. I'd almost forgotten that a despairing song can be just as powerful as a joyful song. Reckoner has elements of both to my ears. Good stuff!

I still think Bodysnatchers is below them, though. Razz
